November issue of Radcom Derby Raynet gets a mention

In the November issue of Radcom Derby Raynet gets a mention, one of our members Ian G3TVU sent in an article on Radio Mobile the path plotting software created by Roger Coudé, VE2DBE Radio Mobile is a Free Radio Propagation simulation program which operates over the frequency range of 20MHz to 20GHz. It is based on the ITS (Longley-Rice) propagation model. The program enables elevation maps to be drawn of specified areas using downloaded SRTM data from the Space Shuttle Radar Terrain Mapping Mission, elevation contours and road maps to be added, and Radio Units (stations) specified for performance and placed where required.

Roger is an honorary member of Derby Raynet and allows us to use the software for event planning purposes. One of the UKs experts on Radio Mobile is another Derby Raynet member Ian G3TVU, Ian has spent many many hours working to improve and make suggestions and feeding these thoughts and ideas to Roger.

Ian has written a Radio Mobile Handbook and runs to 350 pages of reference and 'How to' data in 19 chapters for further information have a look at Ian’s comprehensive website at www.g3tvu.co.uk it has all of the information you need to get up and running, it also has a link to Rogers’s website.

For those who have not seen the Radcom article it is shown here below, we have been given kind permission to reproduce it here on our website by Charlie Morrison GI4FUE who compiled the article in Radcom from an article sent in by Ian G3TVU
