Derby Raynet was formed in excess of 30 years ago and as group has been assisting the User Services with communications throughout this time. Our membership is steadily increasing, and new members are always welcome to join us. Derby Raynet remains the largest active group within Derbyshire and has been so for many years. We attend many events throughout the County each year in which our members are always keen to assist, and indeed we are proud to have never let an event down when asked to attend and provide Safety Communications on a more serious role for the User Services.

Each year we hold an Annual Field Day where we enter competitions, we encourage all our members to enter it is a good way to make friends and this is one occasion when we can have some fun. As a proactive group we are always looking to progress with current technology and trends, and have changed to accommodate this. We are and have been affiliated to the RSGB for many years and now have available several courses including the Foundation.  Our members also enjoy group meetings covering many different topics from technical to the more diverse.

Our group also enjoys a good social scene and diary of visits to places of interest, recently we have acquired a new Communications Trailer which is fully equipped and ready to go at short notice, this was seen by visitors to the RSGB AGM when it was held in Derby. We believe that our members should enjoy the hobby as well as helping others that way we keep things exciting and moving forward.  For further information about us have a look at our website www.derbyraynet.co.uk
